Cisco 6500 + Sup1a or Sup2?
Hello all,
since the price in the used market is very good, we're going to buy a Catalyst 6506 or 6509. We are not sure about the Supervisor Engine yet: Sup1a or Sup2. The switch is going to be a core-switch only, no routing capabilities are required. It must be able to handle a couple GBit/s of traffic, dot1q VLANs of course, q-in-q would be nice and one or more etherchannels(2x 1GBit/s or more) with a very good sharing ratio(50:50 would be best of course).
Is the sup1a enough for our needs or shall we go with the sup2(or even sup32?).
Thanks in advance & best regards, Nico
