Replace the backbone switch par the newer

Hi All,

I used since some years two switches Cisco 4006 (level 3) on the backbone network.

I connected some switch 2950, 2960, 3550 and 3750 to the switch 4006 by GBIC interface (GigaEthernet) with STP enabled.

Each switch 4006 is equiped of 22 Gbic interface. For each 4006 switch, i had 2 x 48 FastEthernet Port (total=96 ports) that i used to connect my servers (linux, unix and solaris) and my Cisco routers and other equipment.

All others workstations are connected to the switch 2950, 2960, 3550 and

3750.

Can you please tell me which switch is used today for the same need ? So, the switch with some Gbic interface (more than 12 gibc and 48 or 96 FastEthernet ports). The switch which support all protocols like STP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, IGMP, DVMRP... etc

So, i need to know, what is the upgrade of the switch 4006 today.
