Severed cable leaves Bainbridge Island without internet, cell service [telecom]

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND - About 2,500 customers have been without internet and phone service on Bainbridge Island since Thursday afternoon after an underwater CenturyLink cable was severed.
The company announced on social media that an "unrelated" contractor installing pylons in Eagle Harbor had damaged an underwater cable, leaving many residents and businesses on the island without cell service or internet.
