Some California cell users can't dial 911 [telecom]

DAVENPORT - Suddenly, calling 911 during an emergency could be problematic for cell phone users on the North Coast.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel is reporting residents of the small communities of Davenport, Newtown, Swanton and Bonny Doon have been without Verizon cell service since December 22.
