Traceroute anomaly
Hi, when I traceroute to a cisco device from a cisco device the traceroute completes however the last response is not the ip that I had specified as the destination. For eg:
ABC#trace
Target ip address: x.x.10.250 Source address: x.x.11.250
1 x.x.4.250 0 msec 2 x.x.5.250 1 msec ABC#I know that the last hop is x.x.5.250 is the ip on another interface (probably the incoming interface) on the same device that was specified in my destination. Is this normal? If so could someone explain how this is possible? Thx.
