AT&T internet outage caused 'significant challenges' to struggling retailers [telecom]

The AT&T outage across Tennessee and neighboring states took out payment systems for some retailers during the crucial holiday shopping week after Christmas.

By Monday evening, most phone and internet capabilities returned following the Friday blast in downtown Nashville that severely damaged a regional AT&T connections facility.
