Documentary About 1975 New York Telephone Fire [telecom]

I've received a URL for a documentary that describes the repair effort which followed the 1975 New York Telephone fire that gutted the

13th St. building on 2nd Ave in New York City.

I'd like to see opinions on whether the repair effort could be duplicated today, or if, given newer technology, it would even be necessary.
