If you can program as well as "do hardware", you'll find extra stuff for you at the site... but programming competence is not required. I tend to use Borland's Delphi. I also do a lot with Dallas 1-Wire, aka MicroLan, but not all of my site is about that, either.If you find something useful, please say so here?
