I am looking for a standalone device that can be used to do bit error testing on 850nm and 1310nm optical ethernet connections. An ideal device might plug into each end of a connection and then transmit raw ethernet packets. In my test environment the two endpoints are on the same rack.
Ideally I would like to stay under $2K for this. What are my options?
