10 Base T Full Duplex?

My understanding is that the specification that describes 10 Base T Ethernet only calls for 1 pair of wires, hence no full duplex. Yet, I see references to full duplex-enabled NICs all the time. Is this because manufacturers aren't subscribing to the standard completely, or simply because I am wrong about the duplex capabilities of 10 Base T?

Thanks

no - separate Tx and Rx pairs

Yet, I

10 Base-T came out before full duplex, but some kit does support it.

you usually get it by "side effect" in that a 10/100 interface almost always supports full duplex @ 100 Mbps, so doing 10 as well is built in.

Not many 10 Mbps only devices around any more......

Actually, I just Cisco's word on the subject; "10BASE-T was originally a half-duplex protocol, but full-duplex features were added later."

I think that answers it for me.

Thanks
