Suggestions for turning a spare Linksys WRT54G into a Wi-Fi repeater

My older sister, in another state, has a problem with Wi-Fi reception, and she has a spare Linksys WRT54G broadband router which I'd like to talk her through setting up over the phone as a Wi-Fi repeater.
