New Compex USB dongle with MC connector

Would the experts care to chime in on this device? I am in the USA and wanting to access some hotspots as I travel the country.

Perhaps this zyxel would be a better choice? I was thinking the hawking dish USB solution until Liebermann posted some neat 3d models that showed it wasn't much better than a flat panel solution.
