one adapter connects the other doesn't on XP laptop to SMC router
Hi, I am trying to use a Dell True Mobile 1150 series PCMCIA wifi adapter in my XP-running laptop in place of a USB Linksys 2.4Ghz.
The Linksys works great. Swapping it for the True Mobile I get the message that I am connected, signal strength is Excellent, I have reentered the WEP code and all seems great. Except that I cannot get access to the INternet. All the standard pages I go after "fail".
I have compared the properties of the two adapters when installed and they seem virtually identical. IP Address in the 192.168.2.xx range, gateway is 255.255.255.0
any clues as to what I am missing?
