Speedstream 5861 - how to restore telnet access?

Telnet Management Custom Access Control List enabled

And no apparent way in the web interface to change it.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this without restoring factory settings and having to reconfigure the router from scratch?

cc by email appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

What version of firmware are you running?

Get a console serial cable. You can still do a console login.

Hmm, if you have configured dial backup, then you can't do a console login either. In that case you would have to reset the router to factory defaults.

I don't know of any other way.

Thanks guys. I've got a console cable, and my wife's old PC has the right kind of serial port. Will try that.

You are going to need the special adapter as well.

Not sure which "web page" you are refering to, but on my 5861 you can hit the administrative page via:

http://192.168.254.254/admin_gui There should be a "set firewall" in the yellow box on the left, setting it to none and hitting save/apply should restore the telnet function.
