SBC DSL out for five days . . .

. . . and they say they won't be able to repair it until day six (out on Thursday, to be repaired on Tuesday).

They say the RT is the problem -- which, if true, would seem to me to affect more people than just me, so why would it take them so long to dispatch a repair tech? Is a six day repair interval typical for SBC? How about for Verizon or BellSouth?

How long do cablecos take to restore their cable modem service?

No, usually 24 hours unless it has to be repaired by the telco, then add

24-48 hours. Any outage longer then 24 hours and you can get a credit from billing when your bill comes in.

My CableOne connection was once out for five days...
