I thought that DCOM acronym stood for [Distributive Component Object Model]
on NT and was being replaced by .NET . Is this NG for DCOM and some form of
Terminal Server on xdsl?

There are about 30 comp.dcom.* newsgroups, some of which likely predate
both Microsoft's DCOM and dotNet (and maybe even Microsoft itself).

In this context, think "Data COMmunication."
