Please log in for more thread options I have a Netopia 3386-ENT and 5 static IP addresses from my provider (which happens to be a terrestrial wireless service) . I would like to use all of the pubic IP addresses on the LAN side as well as some private 192.168 addresses (via DHCP) that would be NAT'd outbound to the router address. I would rather not NAT the public addresses to private addresses. This is the setup we have: Public Ranges: (yes, substitituing a 10 net for the real public one - last octet is real, however) 10.20.30.81/30 - small network between provider's wireless radio and my Netopia 10.20.40.16/29 - public address range of our static IP's Radio [10.20.30.81] <--> [10.20.30.82] Netopia [10.20.40.17] <--> hosts
[10.20.40.18-22]
I would like Radio [10.20.30.81] <--> [10.20.30.82] Netopia [10.20.40.17 &
(dhcp)]
192.168.0.1] <--> hosts [10.20.40.18-22 (static) and 192.168.X.X I don't think the passthrough option helps much, since that only works for one address. I don't see a way to have the Netopia have 2 addresses on the LAN side. Is this possible to do? Can this be done with VLANs, perhaps? If this should be reposted to another groups, please let me know. Thanks! Brian

If it works like the R9xxx routers I can help you.

Hello DLR, I am not sure, but I suspect so. The Linksys we had before was set up this way. The Radio may be set up to specifically route traffic destined for the 10.20.40.17 subnet to 10.20.30.82. I am not sure that the R9xxx routers and the 3000 series routers are similar enough to 'yes' to your question, but they might be. What are you suggesting? Brian

I don't know the if the menus match the R9100 or not and how much you know.

Once this is working go the IP Setup choice on the Quick menus and add a subnet for 10.20.40.16/29 Any devices you want to have on this subnet will want to use .16 as your their gateway/router address which will be the Netopia. You'll also need to set up a map of the external IPs to the internal one in the NAT screen. First define the internal and external ranges, then enter them in the Map list.
