Wireless antenna advice

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone could give me advice on how much boost I need to give my wireless network a little more range from room to room. I know there an awful lot of variables involved here but just advice in general is all I am after, what has worked for other people basically. Thanks

You have to specify what gear you are using at the base and in the clients, as well as what the layout of the network is, ie, multi story or not, walls, etc. AP/router in the middle of the house or end...

A generalized, rough and perhaps incorrect answer is:

1) try making some simple reflectors - google "ez-10 reflector" 2) get things up high enough to make sure it's not behind metal 3) get some high gain rubber duck antennas (omnis).
