WiMAX for Small College

Not sure if anyone here can answer this, but I work at a small (~1300 students) college in the Boston area. The college's network infrastructure is aging, and only a small portion of the (suburban) campus has wireless access.

I know very little about WiMAX, but offhand, would it be appropriate for a campus of about 72 acres, with 25 buildings or so?

Thanks,

Kip

No.

WiMax typically uses licensed spectrum (although it is also possible to use unlicensed spectrum) and the cost to obtain the spectrum rights would be next to impossible, much less affordable.
