WiFi international standards

I'm looking at buying a Roku Soundbridge to use in a wireless network (Apple Airport) at home in New Zealand. I want to buy the item from the USA (as the local versions are really expensive) but Roku state their items are wireless certified in the US only when buying from the US. Is this a problem? What does it mean?

Jeff can be of much more help. The channel range for wi fi varies depending on the local rules. Maybe you can get help here:

I know that with some Linksys products it is the same produtct sold internationally with a firmware update in order to set the device for the European channel list. Perhaps others have some information for you as well.
