Vista not seeing end channels

I mainly use Linux and am quite familiar with XP, all of which in my experience see the high and low channels of the 802.11 spectrum.

For some reason my wife's new laptop with Vista installed cannot see channels 1,2,12 or 13.

I have examined the possible configuration options and cannot see where this can be altered.

This is my first experience of Vista so has anyone else had a similar problem.

Don't know where you are, but in the US only channels 1-11 are available, although that doesn't explain where channels 1 & 2 went.

Yes. It was a firmware issue. Could be in your wife's case, or a driver issue. Look for any updates.

Thanks, relatively new computer so haven't 'fiddled' too much yet.

I'll try a driver update.

UK so channels 1 to 13 are usable.
