Can I ask what the uplink port on the back of my router is for?
The 4 "LAN" ports on the back of the BEFW11S4v3.2 are usually connected to an ethernet card in a computah. The wiring is normal EIA-568A or B cables.
However, if you want to connect one of the LAN ports to a hub or switch, the wiring has to be crossed over (swapping tx and rx pairs). This is done with the uplink port, which is wired as a crossover connector.
Note that you cannot use the 4th port and the uplink port at the same time. It's one or the other.
