SNAP header error

Hi,

I got following error from a NetGear wireless router, does anyone know whether it is a configuration problem or a fault wireless router?

SNAP SSAP = 0; SNAP DSAP = 0 (both should be 0xAA)

Thank you.

Jim

What model Netgear router? Where are you seeing this error message? Log page? Syslog? Monitor program? If on a PC or Mac, any particular make, model, operating system, or configuration?

SNAP is SubNetwork Attachment Point. It's part of 802.2 ethernet LLC (Logical Link Control). This might help:

There are several places where it might be coming from. You'll see it on a DSL modem when bridging between the ATM layer and the MAC layer screws up. You'll also see it on a PC network that has some ancient MacOS machines running Appletalk. I've also seen it on Novell LAN's where there is high packet loss on the ethernet network (usually at a

10 to 100Mbit/sec transition point).

NETGEAR model WPN824v2.

Sorry for not being clear, it is not a PC environment and the question was for a wireless router configuration, not PC configuration. It is an embedded system to connect to the wireless Router, the message was got from dump of the raw data during the connection. The system can connect to other NETGEAR mode such as NETGEAR model WGR614v7, but has the problem particularly to one of the NETGEAR model WPN824v2.

Thank you.
