Local Server

I am setting up a wireless server for the families in our small mountain community. It will not provide internet access, only a web server, email (local), and file sharing. I have a WRT54g, with OpenWRT firmware on it, an a 11db gain omni anntenna. I would like to have users, when they connect to the Linksys, automatically connect to the server, W/O having to know the IP address of the server. I'm sure this is easy to do, but I haven't found out to do it. Any suggestions? Bill

I don't know much about OpenWRT. However DD-WRT supports NoCatSplash, which redirects any call to port 80, to a specific IP address or URL.

suspect this can also be made to work with OpenWRT, but I don't know how.

Any Windoze (SMB) machine will be reachable from any other LAN machine, so put one on the LAN side of the router for your file server, and you can talk about it by \\\\name

You could use software such as

running on a Windows server to redirect all attempts of the user visiting

or

in thier browser to be your website in IIS.

Just a thought.
