interesting observation...

I have two wireless cards ... Linksys Wireless-G WPC54G ver 1.2 and a D-Link AirPlusG DWL-G630 ver C2

I am running WinXP SP2 and Netstumbler 0.4.0

When I use the D-Link and Netstumbler - I pick up more access points / signals then when I use the Linksys card at the same spot.

In my house I have a D-Link DWL-G700AP Access point. Both cards pick it up fine, and both cards using NetStumbler see it fine.

The Windows Zero Config Client shows the D-Link access point with both cards.

I also have to Linksys WAP11 ver 1.1 acting as a point to point bridge connecting two buildings. SSID is disabled and 128 WEP is enabled. The Linksys card / Netstumber does not see them. The D-Link card/Netstumber does.

I have also done this test at airports, etc...where the D-Link / Netstumbler picks up more than does the Linksys/Netstumbler....but the Windows Zero Config tool is shows the same.

What is your opinion? Antenna? Firmware?
