Beaconing stops wireless signal

There are some wireless clients (and drivers) that absolutely insist that it see the SSID of the access point or wireless router in order to function. Turn off SSID broadcasting and the client will ignore the access point. You might wanna check for wireless card driver software updates on this particular laptop.

Also, I consider turning off SSID broadcasting to be a total waste of effort and not very useful as a security measure.

Hi.

We have a wireless network that people can connect to but one laptop connects while it's beaconing and loses connection when we shut of the beaconing. Other laptops are fine. Ideas? Router is True Mobile something or other, not sure of the laptop make / card...

Thanks in advance!
