Please log in for more thread options little network icon in the system tray will show a red X, and I cannot use the Internet during that time. I have to wait anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes before the red X turns into a globe, at which point I can start using the Internet. This problem doesn't always happen, sometimes I boot up and log in, and it shows the globe immediately. But the problem happens maybe 50% of the time. This is with a PCI wireless adapter, using the latest driver and the Windows wireless utility (not the manufacturer utility). I have not seen this problem with my Windows 98 and Windows XP machines that use wireless with the same access point. They always boot up and the wireless can be used immediately. Why is Vista sometimes slow to connect? | |||||||||||||||||||
