- im using WAP11 ver. 2.6 (i found some site about changing the firmware
of it
it to go 22Mbps)
- i found something about the AP they ask something at the
seattlewireless..
-Hi all,
We have a two seperate 802.11b wireless network. 15.4 dbi comet omni
with 200mw prism2 minipci. One of them is set to channel1 other is set
to channel 6. Sometimes, not always, pings from client side are going
too high like 1500. when we change the channels other than 1 and 6
like
2, 7 it starts to work fine. Does anyone now what is the reason. We are suspicios of interference. These two ap are connected to each
other with ydi?s etherant 18dbi flat ant with 100mw orinco card
802.11b. If we use high power at cilent side does it affect ap?. We areconfused at this point. What I heard of is, If you target an AP1 with
another very high powered AP2 like EIRP 40db dish+amplifier, AP2 will
interference to AP1. In this case if AP2 is at client mode, at that
time
it should interfere AP1.
Another reason can be distance between omni and flat
antennas. Does anyone khow what sould be the minimum distance between
them. Or how to calculate it?
We are going crazy over here. Can anyone help us on this.
thanks
Musti
