ICB - Intelligent Call Back

Hello, Some Voice Mail Systems provide functionality to establish connection with person who left the messages just by pressing 2 when you are listening the left message. Does anybody know how call flow for this service looks like? I really appreciate if somebody could help me. Regards Tom

All that is happening is that they messaging system is remembering the ANI of the caller and making the call for you. This can be hit or miss some times because.

1) Sometimes there is no ANI (it has been blocked)

2) Sometimes the ANI is simply a main number and doe snot reflect the true calling number of the caller. You might just get the main number for a company and not a DID number.

3) Depending on the trunks you have you may not be getting ANI at all.

Other than that the call flow is simple. The system usually picks an idle line and makes an outbound call then either does some kind of a path replacement transfer to put you together or conferences you in on the call. Sometimes there is just a connection of the voice paths together.
