True. Also keep in mind that while 1 REN equated to a mechanical bell on an old 500 set, most electronic ringers are in the range of 0.2 to 0.3. The other factor is the ability to drive audio for multiple offhook phones. Again, newer phones are a bit more effecient, but that might be a factor. >Probably the ring will just get weak if you try to drive too many
