Verizon sends bills customer can't read

by Stephanie Wilson and Lesli Foster, WUSA

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- "Let's go back to the bills, Marie," says her friend Charles Smith.

Each month, he stops by to read and organize her mail.

"It says your January bill is $182.46," he says.

"When he read that thing to me I almost had a heart attack," says Marie Smith.

Verizon apparently tried for some time to notify Marie about the changes coming to her account, and even sent a notice of suspension. But, they sent her those notices on paper.
