I just tried to renew one of the domains I have registered on GoDaddy, but their computer profit-packed me by instead renewing an old "auction" service that I don't want, and the GoDaddy rep who answered their phone - less than one hour later - refused to cancel the charge.
Please recommend an alternate Registrar. TIA.

I've had good luck with them, they cost less than GoDaddy, their website and control panel isn't the appalling mess that GoDaddy's was, they haven't tried to cram me with charges, and they have been active in "defend the 'net" arenas like supporting the EFF.
