Surgard MLR2a and VOIP

Hi guys ...

Just wondering if there's any one that experimented at the receiver end with VOIP and what their experiences were.

I plugged a Sipura SPA-1001 VOIP adapter into a line on a Surgard MLR2a and damaged the line card. The line will no longer pick up. It functions fine, but even with a regular phone line attached, the line refuses to pick up. I'm guessing that whatever the Sipura was doing to simulate ring voltages wasn't appreciated by the MLR2a.

I've now got a Vonage account for doing some more testing. The Vonage account comes with a Motorola router that has a couple of phone outputs. Has anyone tied Vonage's (or any other provider's) VOIP services directly to their Surgard line cards? What are your results? ... I'd like to keep the blue smoke from the line cards to a minimum ...

Cheers ...

Dave
