Modem

I wouldn't recommend doing it in the panel. It's not so much a problem when you have it, but it does become a problem if they cancel call waiting. If you dial a *70 and they don't have call waiting the call wont go out.

Modem setup on caddx DL900,

In the dialing prefix can I place a *70 D

To bypass my call waiting with a delay?

Or do I have to have in the panel phone number?

Well that would bypass call waiting to the panel, if you had it in the panel programming the panel would bypass call waiting

To be honest I never cared about doing it since the panel spends so little time sending a signal it seems moot

I program the 1st number with the c/w cancel string, and the backup number without it, and then program the panel to alternate between the two. js

I've always wondered about that one. I never use it for that very reason but I've always sort of felt guilty about it. If a call waiting signal did interrupt a transmission, wouldn't the dialler try again. "course if the caller kept trying to call too... It's a wonder I get any sleep at all.

Let me retry this, From my home when I call a panal to make a change to a coustermor equipment. I have call wating and when iam on line with a panal it gives me erros.

How can I trun it off here. And add delay from the two different dial tones.

Do I need a delay from the *70 (space) 234-9001

I was going to add in the modem prefix to make it easy.

*70 (Turns Call Waiting off) before dialing the panel's telephone number should work....

: Hi all, Tried to post new subject but error 404 came back always... So my question best fits in this post: I have a Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem and when trying to connect with NX8 (using DL900 3.04 winxp), I always get "error writing data to module

0....0". This error appears after the machine has answered successfully.

Is it difficult to please help me with this error? I tried almost all modems and the special settings at string 2 with no luck yet...

Many thanks, Al

Is your modem on the software's compatibility list? In most instances there's a "range" of modems the manufacturer suggests work best with their products.

I have found that I can sometimes get non-listed modem to work by modifying the register codes but this demand a bit of work Also,Try to dumb down your port setting! ie, UART fifo... bring down the transmit buffer. Change modem controls from Software to Xon/Xoff control and lastly find the compression/encryption setting and set it to none. Also make sure your parity setting is proper. Good luck
