Which means they either paid for using Honeywell's ideas or someone didn't do their homework.

Honeywell has no problem stealing everyone else's ideas & technologies, but you can see how protective they get when it is done to them.

Thomas Edison did the same thing bully those he stole from and sued those who tried to steal an original idea. In real life he was not a decent individual at all. Look what he and Westinghouse did to Nicola Tesla.

Or it could be the founders were a Honeywell salesman and AlarmNet executive, sometimes companies don't like former employees as competitors
