Ok... I know that the 9volt battery in the mouth piece is for the speaker amp, but what the heck is the CR2450 that is spot welded into the middle of the unit and encased in plastic for?
Its just not my day.

Dialer memory?

I have a TS-45 and dialer / program memory is what my manual says that is for.
You know... I was taught from my youth to keep heat away from batteries... never did understand why they solder those things in.
I don't know about on yours, but those batteries don't solder very well. They are usually spotwelded in.
