Fire-Lite Panels Suggested Firmware Upgrade

Document: FLSB15-1-1

Fire-Lite Alarms has identified a firmware issue that could potentially aff ect the operation of the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) when using the follow ing addressable Fire Alarm Control Panels; MS-9050UD(E),MS-9200UD(E),MS-920

0UDLS(E),MS-9600(E) and MS-9600(UD)LS(E).

The following conditions must all be present for a system to be affected:

The Fire Alarm Control Panel Signaling Line Circuit is operating in CLIP mo de A CMF-300 module is installed on the Signaling Line Circuit The occurrence of an End of line resistor becoming damaged in a way that ch anges its value from 47k ohms to a value between 89k-101k ohms while instal led on the CMF-300 module

If all of the above conditions are present, the Signaling Line Circuit beco mes unresponsive and will no longer process SLC events and no trouble would be indicated.

Given the low probability of a resistor value changing in this way, Fire-Li te Alarms is not requiring a firmware upgrade. Upgrading the firmware will eliminate the possibility of this issue affecting a system.
