Anyone else work with the total Connect 2 stuff yet ?

went to the class at ADI and put in one of the new tuxedo keypads with couple z wave devices really nice fast set up. Seems my commercial customers are more interested in the technology than handful of residential customers I have .They love having the arm/disarm info etc and knowing whats going on in the business.

It's just a personal preference and some old experience ..... and not a reflection on you, but ..... as a result, through the years I've not "trusted" Ademco to put out, a timely, quality and well supported product and now that it's Honeywell, I trust them even less. The bigger they grow the less significant I become.

I think it just might be the feeling I get when I talk to them that the next thing I'm going to hear is a mechanical sounding voice saying : "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE"

Not to say that it wont turn out to be a great product but I'd rather pass on this for something that's manufactured by some obscure company with 3 employees in Iowa, to get a more secure feeling of doing business with someone.

Your right in a way they where always behind in the industry but for what I do with integrated systems Honeywell is the only one that can do it all with out locking into DMP , Bosch etc.

It's much better than Total Connect 1 but still not up to Alarm.com

I've got a couple of the Tuxedo keypads, very nice

Well, I'd like to put my 2 cents worth in here. I've typically been a fan o= f Honeywell (Ademco) alarm for their look "style", etc. Specifically, I lov= e the look of the 6460 Alpha Keypads, although I do feel they could have le= arn a thing or to from the likes of GE and DSC when it comes to programming= and downloading software.

I jumped on the bandwagon right away with the Tuxedo Keypad and TotalConnec= t. For the most part, remote connection to the Vista-21IP has been great us= ing the TotalConnect 2.0 App and setup easy. Not so with the Tuxedo, quite = frankly, the Tuxedo has been a let down.=20

I find the Keypad "sluggish", have had major issues viewing cameras with ev= erything from the horizontal and vertical dividing line in quad camera view= disappearing and Keypad rebooting unexpectedly. Yes, I have in each case u= pdated the Keypad to the latest firmware. There is no question that the new= Wi-Fi version of the Keypad operates better, but is still somewhat sluggis= h, and when going to the camera view, seems to take longer than it should t= o display the cameras. For example, if the wife heard a knock on the front = door late at night and wanted to view who was there, the process of going t= o the Tuxedo, selecting camera view and waiting for it to display seems una= cceptably long to me.=20

In Canada the cost of the Wi-Fi version is over $400, so with markup and in= stallation it gets pretty expensive. When you consider that you can buy an = Android Tablet for $299 or the new iPad Mini for around $499, which both wo= rk great, customers have high expectations from this Keypad that I don't be= lieve it's delivering right now.

I have several hard wire tux up no problems but you have to watch they lik= e power so you often need back up power supply and have trouble with weat= her report on wifi version one I installed waiting for patch they still h= ave not gotten the total connect 2.1 running yet on hard wire panels there = calling it total connect advanced on Lynx . They better get there ass in g= ear at Honeywell and get it released.

My beef with Tuxedo is for the price they should have added an internal cel= l or at least made it TC2 compatible out of the box, why they didn't is bey= ond me.

Since you can monitor over WiFi with the Lynx why couldn't they added that = feature to the WiFi of the Tuxedo?

The wider design made it impossible to install in places the older 6272 cou= ld fit

Some of the menus looked like they had different groups designing them, for= example the Z-Wave buttons don't have captions but the cameras do.

A lot of little things like you can touch the weather display and get 5 day= forecast but why can't you touch the time display and get time settings?

The cameras don't work with it if they are connected using the WAP, they ar= e supposedly redesigning the WAP

As you said way too expensive.

It'll be interesting when that 3 employee company goes out of business and = you are left with a dead-end product, something that won't happen with Hone= ywell
