Norstar 4.0 w/ applications mod 4.0.07a

Having a problem with the auto attendant releasing a call once the caller hangs up..i.e. caller listens to info mailbox...or caller realizing he called the wrong number and hanging up, however, the auto attendant rings the attendant phone. Phantom caller. I have played around with supervisor disconnect and set it at all levels testing it, however no joy. Any help would be appreciated.

It might (probably is!) be a telco problem. Verify that the KSU is detecting the CPC pulse (disconnect signal) properly. Call in on a line, and while the auto attendant is talking, open one side of the line going into the key system. The system should drop the call instantly. If it does, and it doesn't drop when you (the caller) hang up, the telco is not sending the CPC pulse. This basically is the absence of loop current for somewhere around

700 milliseconds when the calling / called party hangs up. It is a standard feature on public CO switches like Lucent 5ESS, NT DMS, etc. It is configurable on a per line basis, but it can be messed up if your line comes from a SLC, or certain types of remotes. All this assumes that your KSU is connected directly to a public CO. If you are actually getting your lines from a PBX, the standard linecards do not provide CPC. Some PBXs can provide this, but may need a different line card. Look at the bottom left of this page:
