MICS Setup

We are replacing a CICS with a MICS. We are going from 8 lines to 20 lines and from 16 stations to 24 stations. We will be putting a T-1 in later, but not now.

I have worked on MICS before, but have not installed from scratch. I have a couple of questions:

  1. Is there a limit to the number of lines you can put in a line pool?

  1. How difficult is it to install/program the Fiber Trunk Card and

6-Port Expansion Card?

  1. Is there a specific order these cards need to be put in the cabinets in order to work properly?

  2. Any info/warnings I should know before I start?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Melinda

Not to my knowledge.

Slide the card n the slot, I believe that a single card goes in the right hand slot.

put the cards in before I power up the system.

On your 6 port expansion card, the trunk modules are connected starting from the bottom, and the station modules start at the top, this keeps line and station numbers in the proper order.
