Any user that calls voice mail from extension makes my extension ring

I had to change the settings on two extensions in our office so calls that were forwarded to these extensions would go to voice mail if there was no answer or busy. I went into the General Admin->Capabilities->Set Abilities settings using my extension (a M7310 set) and changed the Forward on Busy to 255 (the VM system) and the Forward No Answer to 255 too.

After I have done that, now anyone dials Feature 981 to get to their VM, my extension rings for like a second. On the screen of the phone, it shows the person who is checking their voice mail like "NAMEOFUSER->255".

What have I done wrong here? What else am I missing? Can anyone give me some insight?

I think I am running a Meridian 8x24 system and Norstar voice mail. My system version is 30NVM05 DR5. I hope I've been able to explain this enough.

Sounds like you assigned an answer DN of 255 to your phone.
