Adding T1

We have an MICS . We have only a single cabinet with 2 c1 cards in it. We are looking at replacing the analog lines with a T1/PRI to get DID service and Caller ID. What expansion modules if any do we need to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance

Does the T1 card need to occupy a particular slot? I think I need to set up target lines for the system to support the DID Function is this correct.

The T1 cards must go in the main cabinet, if you are replacing the copper with the PRI, then no expansion module is needed. In addition to the T1 card, you will need a clock card, and a key code to enable the PRI.

The T1 card can go in either slot, but remember that lines 1-24 are in the right hand slot, and 25-48 in the left hand slot.

This is incorrect - a DTI card can also go in an expansion cabinet (depending on software versions). Also, depending on your software version, you may need to upgrade your software. Adding a PRI is not a DIY project - call your vendor, they will be able to help you with this and save a lot of time and headaches.

Line numbering can be different - depends of software version.
