Wiring in a Surge Protector

I've got a flat screen TV I want to mount on the wall.  I'd like to plug it
into a surge protector on the floor, but don't want to run wires down from
the TV.  How are most folks doing this?  I know you're not suppose to run an
extension cord behind the drywall, even if it's an inside wall that's not
insulated.

Suggestions?

Re: Wiring in a Surge Protector
You can have an electrician (or you can do it if you know how to) install an
outlet behind the TV.  Hopefully, your set has a little room to get a small
surge protector behind it.  If not, maybe the electrician can give you some
guidance on how to have surge protection in the wall for that new outlet.
