Weird Behavior (xbox and cable to home theater)

I have a Samsung htds 400 Home theater, it comes with two complete video and audio inputs (aux1 and aux2), when I hook up my XBOX and cable box to them, I get only audio (both cases), I already checked the connections and are ok, so basically I have to connect the audio to the Home Theater and the video RCA cable to the auxiliary of the TV but that is a pain.

Does anyone knows what could be wrong?

Does it have to do with ntsc and pal (I'm talking about the input is supposed to be read in the home theater)

thanks in advances

you need to have one video cable from xbox to samsung receiver and one video cable from cable box to Samsung receiver and then one video cable from samsung receiver video out to the TV. Is this what you have done? What TV do you have?
