Plasma/glare - LCD/matte?

Someone told me today that plasma screens have a shiny glass surface (high
glare) by design (not necessarily intentionally), while LCD screens have
more of a matte finish.  The plasma might act like a mirror in certain light
conditions, it would seem.  Comments?

Re: Plasma/glare - LCD/matte?
IF you have a big screen TV, you don't want much outside light on any set.
LCD's seem less sensitive to light than Plasma, but have more impaired views
when you move far left or right of center.  If you have seating far left and
right of the TV, I would go with Plasma, but DLP, for the money, is superior
in my experience.  Good luck.
