hi, I have an HDTV and was wondering about a component switch box. it only
has 2 component inputs and I have my cable box, DVD player and both PS2 and
Xbox. are some switch boxes beter than others? will all of them degrade
quality to some noticable degree? where can I get one of there and how much
should I expect to pay? thanks in advance

-Nick

See the good folks at Radio Shack for an example. Not cheap at $70 but

it does what you're looking to do. Degradation should be negligable.

I have the same problem. Installed a SIMA box and all is well. The box
handles 4 sets of RCA or S-Video inputs as well and fiber for audio. Sends
to four outputs including fiber and coax and upconverts RCA and S-Video
signals to S-Video and/or Component. Automatically detects hot input and
switches box to that input - fully automatic. Not quite 3 yrs old now.
Very good - Very reliable. About $190 in Jan 2003.
