Hi,
RCA cable can't carry HD signal.

Re: Can I split Composite cable with a RCA y-cable

Often wondered if there is a problem with this myself. But wether its
recommended or not, I've been doing that the last 2-3 yrs. My current
setup has a D-VHS vcr recieving output from my cable box via firewire,
I then run the component out from the VCR to my CRT monitor, plugged
into the monitor I have 3 of those rca type y splitter plugs, to this
I bring in the signal from the VCR, the other side runs to my
projector. The monitor is a Samsung CRT, The projector is a Sharp now,
I had a Sanyo in line before. Haven't seen any problems & have been
doing this for a few years now. Definatly avoids a lot of plugging &
unplugging & costly switch boxes.

I say try it. It's certainly not going to hurt anything.
