I've been lurking for quite a whice and have spent the last 3 days
researching and have put together my new front-projection system. Any
suggestions regarding stupid choices or recommended upgrades (or
downgrades appreciated).

Thanks

Tom

The AE900 is a no brainer.

An adequate screen for your budget. The AE900 will have no problem with the
size.

The Oppo is a good match with the AE900. I use it with my NEC HT1100. I
would order it directly from Oppo, however. Fast shipping and you will be
assured that the latest firmware has already been installed.

No better or worse than any other mainstream reciever at that price point.
It will do an adequate job.

I'm a Hsu fan myself.

Question for your guys. I have a Hitachi LCD RPHDTV and it is my
understanding that it's native format is 720P. If I understand correctly
any signal, be it 1080i, or 480i or p, etc., will be converted to 720P on my
set.

With this in mind, would it make a difference with my set if the DVDP
upconverts or not? It seem it wouldn't matter.

BTW, I get better results running my current DVDP (Sony DVP NS999ES) at
480i. When I set it to 480P the picture is not as good?
