Anyone checking out the stock market and the Fed bailing out banks and
brokerage houses?
I've never seen it looking more like "the shit is about to hit the fan".
I hate sounding like a Survivalist,
but it doesn't look good....any thoughts?

The price of ammo has skyrocketted in the past couple of years too.

Yeah i know. SHeeesh.. its all down to the price of lead and the fact
that the US keeps using up all the ammo production in their various wars.

But its a good question. How are you guys set if the world goes to
complete shit?

Me I'm doing OK. Got power, got water and the hunting is good. I really
need to buy a couple of fifty pound bags of salt though. Salt is key for
preserving -- making jerky and whatnot. I'm still using propane for
refrig so i'd have to figure something out on that front.

I'd be screwed for salt.

Tell you what is scary is living in a city if the shit hits the fan.
Imagine when the trucks stop bringing in all those hundreds of tons of
food each day into a big metro.. chaos.

cheers from the boonies

The real threat is getting old. There will not be enough resources to
cover our old asses and when your to old to fight or work the strongest
get the goods.
The US policy of growth is going to backfire big time someday. We
can all get along with less, a lot less but that's not the American (and
now the world's) way of life. We expect for things to get better and
better. Less work, more productivity and a higher standard of living.
Wars are fought over resources and beliefs. As for when the SHTF not
really much a person can do. Yes they can live for a while independent
of outside resources but roving bands would soon take what a person has.
Here is what can and did happen,
