Please log in for more thread options using windows, it creates a display that has random pixels of the wrong color (snow) flickering on it. If I take a small window and move it around the screen, a bunch of wrong color pixels accumulate on it, obscuring some of the text. When I try to play a 3D game, it basically works but there are random triangles flickering all over the display. I tried everything I could think of to make this problem go away. I sprayed contact cleaner in the slot. I reseated the card several times. I changed drivers. I lowered the clock speeds in the card. Nothing worked. The visual noise is still there messing things up. Anybody know what's wrong and what I can do to fix it? My system has: Windows 2000 pro SP4 AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 512mb ram 300 watt psu 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives | ||||||||||||||||

Please log in for more thread options The memory chips are usually soldered on the card, so changing the memory
usually isn't an option, even if you could get the chips. IMHO, your only options are to a) turf the card, or b) contact the eBay seller, and try to get another card or refund from him. As the other guy indicated, this usually happens as a result of overheating, which is often caused by over-clocking the card to try to get more performance from it. How do you know it's "brand-new", besides what the seller told you? In any case (whether it's brand new or not), will the seller honor any kind of warranty on it? Clint >
